Don't know that the lack of a more robust cush drive is a problem since race wheels for drag racing don't have any cush drive. The cush drive isn't showroom new, but not showing a lot of wear. In any event I'd expect hard parts to keep the sprocket planar instead of counting on the cush inserts themselves to help. We saw nothing alarming when it was apart. There's still quite a bit of wobble when reassembled and the axle torqued.
