Web25 apr. 2012 · Generously apply 2-3 coats of rust convertor. I used 1/2gallon generously apply 2-3 coats of rubberized undercoating. (I also powerwashed and rubberized the wheel wells.) It's kind of a PITA, took me about 12hours and $90. IMO liquid rust convertors are easier to use and generally cheaper. And if you parked in the garage with regular wash normally your car should be rust free for 10-12 years. I would say applying undercoating when it's new is good enough.
