Try resetting the sim (in the Cheats panel type: resetSim Firstname Lastname -- that is, if your investigator is named Sam Spade, you'd type: resetSim Sam Spade). If that doesn't work, go into the Edit Town mode and evict them from their household, then merge them back in and see if that helps.
